I'm looking for stainless steel grip screws. They're M4 fine thread. I called Taurus and they said they only carry the black ones. Does anyone know where I can get any because my 1911 looks pretty lame with my rosewood grips and black screws.

Aren't they the same as any other 1911 screws?

I wish it were that easy. Taurus is made in Brazil and they use metrics. I called Kimber and they only sell standard screws not metric.

Is that something that Taurus told you, or you are assuming that? Other Taurus owners please jump in.

The grip screws are not metric!! The blue ones Taurus has are shallow and fairly soft. There are several types available in Brownell's and Midway's inventory. I replaced mine a couple of weeks ago using allen head screws, Ed Brown, MidwayUSA #983969 $7.89.

I bought Wilson SS grip screws for my blue PT1911 and they work just fine.

Curious, I am, why did you not look at what I had sent for information? Midway sells from numerous suppliers, as does Brownells and others. Did Wilson have a better ring to it than Ed Brown? The screws are likely all from the same one or two suppliers and then sold under whoevers name. I'm willing to bet Wilson does not have the tooling tied up in screw manufacture. But if you feel like you got a better deal I'm happy for you, at least the screws in stainless won't oxidize, which is why I changed mine.
