I have been building a Armcor/Rock Island Compact as some of you may know. Construction is almost complete. So I thought I would tell you about it and get some opinion's from the masters. First I picked up a Armscor SS frame, and followed up with a Call to Ray at Advanced tactical who got me a Tactical Rock Island top end. The folks at Fusions firearms supplied me with the internal parts. I was missing the hammer strut, and the mainspring and pins for the MS housing, So Ray got another call and those are on the way. I left the Slide park'ed and jeweled the SS flats while leaving the rounds mat finish. I was a little suprised at the amount of fiddlely, sanding and polishing that was required, But thanks to all of you, and previous post I had a good knowledge base to work from.

Probably, my big question now is which do you think looks better, The blued thumb safety and slide release or SS??

Nice build, I prefer the blued thumb safety and slide release!

I bought it off of gunbroker, Centerfire systems had some available, not sure if they were compact or fullsize.

you,ll have to find an FFL holder to do a transfer. i live in a small town with only one gun dealer(a pawn shop). he did the transfer for $30. i got the frame from Rock Island Armory (Armscor). they have a banner link at the top of this page with a Ph#. you can check midway-usa,brownells,caspian and the auction sites.

Very nice!

I'd leave the blued controls on the SS frame; it's a very classy look.

Congrats!
