Just got one of these and am doing some mods. Got a flush mag in the works, and got the holster and grips figured out and ordered. But there are a few things I would like to have but not been able to find or have some questions on.

Has anybody put the 10-8 solid trigger on one? Is it a drop in or does it need fitting?

Does anyone know of an extended, or enlarged slide stop that will fit on an EMP? Doesn't necessarily have to be huge, just larger than what is on it. Has anyone seen an EMP with one? Just curious, all my other 1911's have one, and it just feels weird without one.
Anybody have any suggestions as to something else to add or changes?

I don't think a 1911 trigger will fit or could be made to do so without totally rebuilding it.
Dunno about a slide stop.
Look at the SA magazine ad and see if the slide stop is one of the all-new parts listed. If it is, your only approach would be to have the factory part altered.

You are right about the regular 1911 trigger, but 10-8 makes a replacement trigger specifically for the EMP. What SA magazine ad are you talking about? got a link to it?

Keep in mind the EMP's spec is not a standard 1911 spec. so parts for a standard 1911 will not fit the EMP. Maybe the hammer will but I have doubts for other parts b/c the EMP is a slim version of a subcompact 1911. I have an EMP.

Everything I have got or am contemplating, except for the slide stop, is or will be a custom configuration for the EMP. That is why I was asking about the slide stop, wasn't sure if they would fit or could easily be modified to drop in, or if it would have to be a specially custom job.

Slide stop is standard. I have a 10-8 trigger that I was getting ready to install right before Ike hit. I also ordered replacment guts for it and a new hammer. I am putting the EMP specific Big Dot front sight with a Novak half ghost rear sight. I already installed the 10-8 mag release. Where did you get a flush fit mag?

I tried a standard xtnd slide release and it wouldn't hold the slide open, but it was a old release, so maybe i just need to get a newer one and try it. I will have to check out the mag release, didn't know they had one. I have a guy working on the flush mag, when I get it back I will let you know how it works out if you want to contact him.

I am using a Wilson Combat extended slide stop on my EMP. I also replaced the ambi safety with an Ed Brown tactical thumb single side safety. all new parts are working fine.

Any ideas for thicker grips for an EMP?

Esmeralda in California makes standards grips for 1911 Compact. They might fit the EMP. Give her a call. Her grips are outstanding.

I put a set of officer's grips on just for giggles, and with very minimal fitting on the mag release, they fit and give a very filling grip. however if I was going to keep them on there, I would change the screws and bushings for regular ones.
