My NRM front sight is in place but I noticed there is movement when I wiped down the slide.
Should I purchase a staking tool and use it to firm up the sight or send it to a Gunsmith and have him do it? Could anyone recommend the best staking tool for this task if I take that route.Thanks.

An inexpensive tool is here http://www.brownells.com/aspx/ns/store/ProductDetail.aspx?p=25168&title=1911%20AUTO%20ARSENAL-TYPE%20SIGHT%20STAKER and is not hard to do. But you may very well cure the problem by cleaning the area with alcohol, blow dry, and add a drop of Loctite #290 which is a wicking formula.

Thankyou for your reply Log Man,
I think I will try the ReStaking first,If it does not work out I can always send it back to Colt for warranty repairs.

i used a flat headed punch that worked well, may not be the best procedure but hey I'm cheap.
