I bought a RIA tactical a couple of weeks ago and I am interested in changing out the sights with some fiber optics ones. I have been shopping around and am unsure of what I should get. Does anybody have any suggestions on what I should get and if you have the specific part numbers and info on where I could buy them that would be great.

Chopperman,
You may want to contact Fusion I do believe that they have a fiber front sight that will work on the Tactical.

Do the Charles Daly and Tactical have the same sights?

Hey chopperman,
I went with a fiber optic front sight from Fusion, and had a local gunsmith install it on my RIA Tactical. The smith had to shave off a bit of the slide right at the dovetail for the sight to fit flush, which he said was why he charged me $30 to install a single sight. Cost me more to install it than to buy the sight itself, but I'm very very happy with it and would do it all again. Make sure you get the correct height... I think front sight on the RIA Tactical is .180" but I might be remembering wrong

Wouldn't it been better to shave off a bit of the front sight instead?

Yes, it would be better but unfortunately the fiber optic front sight has very little metal to work with. Compared to the typical solid dovetailed front sight, the fiber optic sight is a dainty skeleton of metal that holds a fiber optic tube in place.
