Have a Colt 70 series that dents the primers at 6 o'clock. What is the fix?

Does it go BANG everytime? If it does it's not broken :D . No need for a fix. One of my Colts strikes at 4 o'clock. Goes bang always so I forgot about it......until I read your post. If it doesn't go bang, it's over my head. Probably welding involved???

Did somebody change the link to try and improve lock up? Most Series70s ride the link anyway so a shorter link would bring the primer down, this is an iffy thing to do without knowing how much upper lug engagement it has. I would not go below .040" with .045" really being a minimum. That being said an off center hit is not normally a big deal.

If the gun goes bang every time, certainly not important enough of an issue to start messing with barrel lockup in order to change it.
