Dan Wesson has been bought by CZ. The 1911 line is being produced. The revolver line is supposed to be reintroduced later. Are the new pistols being made in the U.S. or overseas?

Still made at the same plant but are in process of "regrouping".
They're only producing 2 modelsof the 1911 right now.

Somehow, I think this is an interesting deal.

CZ gains entrance to the US market, while also acquiring a 1911 pistol design. Lovely!

As stated before, it could see DW products sold where ever CZ products are sold, but so far CZ has authorized the production of only two models of the 1911 and none of the revolvers. I'm hoping to see CZ authorize a return of all of the DW line.

The first major problem of theis merger has surfaced already. Local dealers tell me the prices of the DWS have been raised by almost $200. DWs were good "bang for the buck" at their old pricing. At the new prices I'm seeing, I'll stick with Smith or Springer.

Yep, my dealer told me 2 months ago the prices were going up $200 per gun on average. Still a good gun for the money. CZ wants the Dan Wesson's to compete with Kimber, but in my mind that is already a no contest. I would take a DW or SA over a Kimber any day.

If CZ wabts to make their DW "line" compete with Kimber, they are going to have to make them less reliable than what they have in the past. Everything will be fine as long as CZ remembers to stick a line about "500 round break in" in their owners manual!

I hope DW/CZ decides to intro the DW's back into Kalifornia! At present (it is my understanding) they are not submitted for "official approval" testing, and consequently not sold here. :(

Well, a fella can hope (wish) - can't he?? Too soon to move out of state!

While I am wishing my life away, I would be very happy to see some new DW wheelguns come to market. My DW .357 has been chugging along for many trouble-free years.
