I posted this in the wrong forum so hear we go. Can A stainless be parkerized? I realy like the looks of a Black 1911 with silver parts.

No, but it can be blued.

I've seen some other 1911s that have been two toned. Some are black and polished stainless - very nice. Others black and OD green. I guess they are epoxy coated. If so you should be able to have them done in any color desired.

Yes, stainless can and is commonly blued by a similar process as carbon steel, but slightly different chemicals.

Yes, the term bluing refers to guns, which is a black oxide process. Doing SS is a little tricky as the parts need to be activated in a 50% Muratic acid solution for 2-5 minutes and then in the hot tank for 5-20 minutes. The times vary as the alloy varies, but once figured out it's pretty good.
