I want to get a full set of springs for a Commander but I was wondering whether ISMI chrome silicon + ss springs are any better than Wolff's proprietary material.
Is there any metallurgist out there?
I heard many people arguing that ISMI springs last longuer while Wolffs site says chrome silicon springs may last less than their proprietary ones.

Why not call both of them tomorrow, as I had suggested previously. Take note of their response, buy both brands(springs are cheap) and resolve the question first hand. Then you can report back as to your findings.

I'm not a metallurgist, but George at EGW uses ISMI exclusivly for all springs (except the Colt sear spring). That's good enough for me.

I've used some ISMI springs and they do indeed maintain their length better than the Wilson ones, I've tried. I haven't tried a Wolff spring though.
