Replace front sight

I want to replace front sight on Springfield Trophy Match with a fiber optic one. I can see that the roll pin needs to come out but the slide has a square cut in it under the sight and some residue in it. Can I tap the sight out or do I need a sight pusher? Is this job best left for a gunsmith? Has anyone replaced front sight on this model?

I've not messed with that model, but it sounds straight forward. Tap out the pin, then tap out the sight.

If you're not sure, you can call Springfield and ask them how the sight is retained.
