Well, I did it. I bobbed my commander. It's mine and I like it. Sorry for the poor photos. I'll take some better soon and show off the new grips I have coming. I stuck these on to take the photos.

Great job. One of the best improvements to a 1911 that can be made!

I started with a good condition used commander and added a C&S solid trigger, Ed Brown bobtail MSH and a Wilson Beavertail GS. I did use the dreaded dremel tool for some of the grinding, but I used a lot of filing and sanding to fit the parts. I have a small blasting cabinet and it has paid for itself with all the stuff I have blasted with it. I tried to radius some of the sharp edges, like on the slide stop and thumbsafety. I was pleased with the results. It shoots great, better than it did. I find the duckbill safety actually pinches the web of my shooting hand.
