Black Talon,
I just got my first digital camera on Saturday as a gift from my son, so when I get a little familiar with it, I'll post pics of my only Springfield.
It is one of the earliest Loaded Lightweights when they were still coming out of the Custom Shop and isn't even close to being as photogenic as your irons. It is a hard working gun with a LOT of finish wear on the aluminum frame and a piece of skateboard tape on the frontstrap, sort of poor man's checkering. It is a wonderful shooter and it has served me well both as a carry gun and in competition in an action pistol league. It is semi-retired now and only goes out for matches.
Regards,
Rabbi

This is just a graphic of what the gun should look like when complete. I'll post a photo of the finished gun when it gets back from Robar in about three weeks.

Nice piece, have an SA Micro Compact myself as my normal carry gun. Also have a full size SA standard also. Both shoot fine and under IDPA conditions the 3 in shoots as well as the 5 in. Both guns will run alsmost andy ammo including SWC.

SA discontinued the OD green on the 1st of this year, they still make the bi tone, black slide natural aluminum frame and the also make the Black Armoy Kote . You should have on you wouild like it, it's like that card you never leave home without it and you hardly know it's there. Also it shoots as good as a big one.

I wouldnt mind picking up a GI Micro and building it up similar to the full size I did above.

That is probably the way to go to someone who is familiar with the 1911 like you and Wichaka and 1911 Tuner and some of the other guys, but us old mechanics have learned that if we are not that familiar with a mechanism to let someone who knows what they are doing to do that type of work, before it costs us double or more to repair properly. Maybe down the road I will feel competent to do that type of work
