Came in from shooting and startiong cleaning my RI. Well to make a long story short the link pin fell out of the link and bounced across the basement floor. Well I found it and got to wondering was this supposed to happen. It went back just fine and stays there but it had never just fallen out while I was cleaning my barrel.
What is the answer? Is this something that needs fixed by someone other than me myself or I?
Thanks
Matt

very interested in what might come of this. I have a Charles Daly also produced by ARMSCOR and the same thing happened. All the RIA ones (2 GI, 1 38 Super and 1 Tactical) dont have that issue.

Typically, the link pin should be a very tight fit. However, even if it isn't, the pin can't go anywhere when the gun is assembled. Personally, I would fix it (mick your pin and call Brownells for a slightly oversized one) just because I like things being the way they are supposed to be.

IMO - This should be fixed ASAP. In the event that the loose pin wears its own slot in the frame groove, it might be mighty difficult to remove the barrel/slide someday.

Hey Nut, the lower lug is a little thicker than the pin is long, you can stake the edge of the hole with a punch, to hold it in.
