Well I plan to post one big post when I finish the AO but I was so pleased with how this turned out I thought Id share it. I chose a STI grip safety mainly as it so closely matches the one in my Taurus its unreal. Minus a few casting marks you'd think thats who Taurus buy's em from. Same with the Ambi Safety!
First step. strip the gun and fit the Wilson jig.

Working with the wilson jig was great! I marked the frame, removed the jig, cut the bulk with a die grinder & cut off wheel. Then I reinstalled the jig went to the belt sander and carefully sanded it down close. Then I switched to files, this is where the jig really came into its own. My files would cut the frame metal but not the stainless steel jig.
second step the fitting.

as you can see after I did all I could with the jig I still had a bit of fitting in to do. As the grip safety is stainless steel, and I did not want to mar the finish, I couldnt leave it in and file down to it so I marked it with a sharpie and went to town filing. when I got it real close I stopped with the files and used a right angle grinder with a buffing pad to remove the file marks then progressive sand paper from 60 to 400. As I plan to duracoat the gun as the final step I felt 400 was close enough for now. I cleaned up the frame and applied a little cold blue for protection and here it is!http://i190.photobucket.com/albums/z27/psjken/ammo008.jpg
