I like the feel of a high ride beavertail grip safety on my 1911's , the AMT didn't have one on it , so I order wilson combat and a wilson beavertail fitting jig from Brownells

AMT government before

didn't realize I needed to change the hammer to make it work so I bobbed the hammer

so then I order a new hammer and few other parts that I felt that needed
from Brownells

I have never owned an AMT that came w/o a beavertail in any flavor, nor have I owned one like that w/o the "Colt Style" rib and sight setup.

The factory beavers looked exactly like the pachmyer style but in SS and used the std hammer like you bobbed.

Must be a last prod piece by them, odd, there is no warnings on the slide.

Nice work!!! Kinda fun, ain't it? Once you get into the challenge of making it fit right and look good. And you get that "yup, did it myself" feeling to boot.
