I've tried both. Gun Kote is very thin in the can, tends to run if you hose it on. Good finish. TM is more forgiving to apply. Don't know that there's any real difference in toughness or thickness of the final finish. I work for Brownells, we sell both, so I've played a bit with all of our finishes, TM is the one I grab first for a bake-on. Just warm the can (about 90 degrees) and the part with any of them and you'll be golden.

oh... i was just curious which one will last longer with normal use. Ive done gun-kote. it's a lot of work. but just don't know how long it will last.

I'd guess service life will be about the same with either. The work to apply is the same, still have to blast and clean, clean, clean. Only advantage to TM would be the more forgiving application.
