Hi all. I have a colt lighweight officers. I would like to gather some of your opinions on the gun. Thank you very much.

I had one for many years, and shot it a lot. The frame finally wore out, and developed cracks around the slide stop hole and where the guide rod rests against the frame.
I really liked the gun, but would get a steel frame next time. With that short of a stroke for the slide, the frame takes quite a beating.
I shoot an average of 3-4,000 rounds a year. On my own and as a L.E. Dept. firearms instructor. All my guns are shooters, so all are subjected to a lot of firing.
If you plan on firing it a lot, just make careful inspection of the frame often. If you shoot it little, disregard all that I said and enjoy it.
