Hi, I'm looking for various methods of measuring the distance from each slide lug to the breech face. Is there a specific tool for this? If you've got a homemade rig, I'd like to see it! Thanks in advance.

For anyone else who is interested, I found a thread that answers this question quite well.

I clamp the slide in a v-block and measured it with a height gauge and indicator. Put a piece of ground stock on the breechface and zero on the underside of it, then measure away.
I tried the cerrosafe route but I didn't like it. It's been used by many successfully, though.

Im on the same page as R.E. The height gauge is just too easy to try anything else.
