Thought I would share a couple of pics of my project from John Harrison. All I can say is WOW, he sent me these photos so I thought I would post them before vacation. I will have the pistol back when I get back from vacation just thought I would give a sneak peak of what's to come. I will post photos and description when I get back from Palm Beach. Enjoy pics of a piece of art.

D90King,
That's beautiful! Especially the grips. I'm a sucker for ivory and those look like they have great grain. What's the reasoning behind the trigger? You just wanted something lighter?

Thanks Landman......The ivories are supposed to be really nice according to John. I did this gun as a full build and the trigger was just one of the things to address( I love short triggers). I have 2 others (WWI Repro's) that will stay the way they came from Colt. What you cant see in the pics is the hammer work witch is stunning. I have 2 other pics of it with the wood grips he also made for it that show the hammer a little maybe I will post those pics to.
Looks great Patrick! :appld:
Wanna sell the old trigger? :D

That is what I had hoped for a retro build like the early days. :D The gold bead looks cool to me.

I wasn't sure how the ivory would hold up at the range so I wanted a set that I wouldn't worry about.

d90king, did John need to do any refinishing of the pistol?? I see the pins but how about the frame/slide??
Also, what wood grips are those?
Very nice gun :appld: .

Yes the pistol was refinished by Doug Turnbull in the same Carbonia Blue. He polished all the flats w/1200 before it was sent off to finish. The pins are Nitre blued ones that is why they stand out. The grips are walnut I believe but will double check, they where made for the pistol by John.

I like the wood grips better. It's hard to beat nice wood and it really gives a nice contrast to the blue of the pistol.
This is an excellent pistol that I would be proud to own and I am sure you are very happy with how it turned out. http://www.clicksmilies.com/s1106/aktion/action-smiley-035.gif

Absolutely stunning, Patrick. This has been a lot of waiting, but John has created you a masterpiece. He put a lot of love and effort into that build. Everytime I spoke with him recently, he was working on it and really enjoying the process and results. That will be a fine compliment to an already enviable collection.
Hope your vacation is relaxing and satisfying.

WOW!!!! Patick that is an absolutely beautiful pistol, showcasing John's outstanding work (as usual ;))! Another big thumbs up for the nitre blue pins! I prefer the walnut also...John does such a good job with those...better than others i've seen by 'smiths on his "level".
That is maybe the coolest looking grip safety i've ever seen! I've always wanted to actuate/use a slightly extended model like that...as a matter of fact, i'm slooooowly working on something similar with Jason Burton for MY Commander :).
I like the bob'd hammer too. Very cool... The whole pistol is just slick .
Enjoy your vaca! I just got back from a much-needed surfing and fishing trip in Hatteras, NC...very relaxing  :).
p.s. i'll be really curious to know what you think about the slightly extended grip safety.

Thanks Eli, sorry for the delay in response. John did a outstanding job on this project and is a true gentleman to work with. His work on the hammer and GS are outstanding. Doug Turnbull's work on the finish was great too. The Nitre pins add a great touch. I will post my pics this week as time permits. Glad you had a great vacation.
