I have a Norinco that I had Wilson tacticool combat sights installed and the gun shoots 5" high at 25yrds. However, it shoots dead on at 10yrds. Why is this?

Next Question:
The front is milled .300 x 60*x .070" and the only people that I have found that make this exact front sight is Wilson, but it seems that the only one I can get would be tritium. This isn't that bad, but I do not want to order a $45 front sight that I'm not sure is the right height.

The current sight measures .16" from the top of the slide. Wilson says it is supposed to measure .173"Tacticool sight (http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/store/ProductDetail.aspx?p=16465&title=TACTICAL+SIGHT)
The other Wilson sight I could get is the Tritium which is supposed to measure .190"Tritium (http://www.brownells.com/aspx/NS/store/ProductDetail.aspx?p=16449&title=1911+AUTO+NITE+EYES?%20FRONT%20SIGHT)

In summary:
How tall does my front sight need to be?
Which front sight should I get?
Will a Heinie sight work? ( .300x 60*x .060" )
Why does it shoot POA at 10yrds and not at 25?

Thanks All

Your front sight of .160" is way too low........that's usually the right height for an Officers. Although I see from the info. on the Wilson sight, that the Officers takes a lower height still.

Dead on at 10 yards (30 feet) versus 25 yards (75 feet), that's close to being about right. I'd try the .173" if it were mine, but I'm not making any guarantees here.

By raising the front sight .013", that will make a big difference at 25 yards.........will it be enough, not sure as I don't know the height of the rear sight. If you have the rear Wilson sight that you have the link about, then it should be real close.

Wichaka's the man to know how to adjust it. As to your question, "Why?" I can make a semi-educated guess. What did you say you had installed for sights?

Wilson tactical combat sights

25 yards is a target distance, not a "tactical" or combat distance. Combat distance is typically within 7 yards (21 feet ... the magic number of the Tueller Drill). It sort of sounds like you didn't research enough before deciding what to buy, and the result is sights not matched to the mission of the pistol.
