Can you please send me a technical picture of ambidextrous safety (not installed in gun)?
This is for me to know if i can replace my thumb-safety. So I can manage my gun using both hands. Does ambidextrous safety needs to be fitted in a different frame?

Dartman,

Usually the ambi saftey is installed by removing the original saftey and putting the ambi unit in it's place. Typically speaking, the only change would be to the right side grip to allow clearance to the "finger" of the ambi-saftey.

Of course, it all depends on the gun too.

This question is not specific to any particular make of pistol, nor does it even mention a brand. It's more a general gunsmithing question ... so I have moved it to the Gunsmithing area of the forum for you.

Please try to post questions in the appropriate place on the forum. You'll find that you get better answers that way.

Yes, it would have to be fitted to your sear for it to work correctly, there's a coulpe of spots on the safety that need to be filed down and too much filing will render the safety useless, take it to a smith or get a how to manual and go slow rechecking the fit often if you decide to do it yourself, it's not hard but you need to now were and how much to file.
