front sight?

Does the 1911a1 A-O have narrow or wide sight tenon? I would like to replace it with a higher blade along with the rear sight

Never mind, it has a colt narrow tennon. Tends to just depart the front. Funny thing is, sometimes the AO shoots better without it. Replaced mine with Tritium Front and Rear.

It is still there but as it is a govenment size sight old eyes have a hard time seeing it so a new taller sight is in order. thanks for the info now I know what size to get
