4 digit SN on Colt 1911 US Property

I have a friend who's father died and he found a US Property Colt 1911 with a 4 digit serial number. It has a well warn blued finish and original magazine. It is in pretty good overall condition with no rust.

I was wondering if anyone out there might have a rough idea when this pistol was manufactured. I am trying to get more info on the pistol but curious.

According to information on The Sight's 1911 .45 ACP Production Information page, this might be when your M1911 originates... or rather between these dates shown below-

Colt: S/N 1 to 3190 = April 16, 1912 to May 31, 1912

Colt: S/N 3190 to 7501 = May 31, 1912 to Oct. 10, 1912

Colt: S/N 7501 to (approximately) 20,000 = Oct. 10, 1912 to Jan. 1913
