Some time ago I bought a S&W 4586 with the tactical rail. The rail has proven to be a pia. Can I remove it without producing any ill effects in the weapon. There are two holes in the bottom of the frame that appear to be filled with epoxy or some such compound and drilling this stuff out to remove the rail would leave two holes in the bottom of the frame. I really like the gun, but not the rail. I thought it was a good idea at the time, but I can't find a holster that fits it, properly, unless there is a light hung on the rail. Help!
