I've got a "enhanced" commander that I want to swap rear sights on. I will keep the stock front. I was trying to remember an old sight I had on a previous 1911 that was a fixed unit that had a wide flat rear somewhat like a bomar. I cant remember who made it, it had a flat section and was all the way to the rear of the slide. Any help?

I think you might be talking about one of the rear sights Kings offers. Here is a link to their catalog page on rear sights.

Ted Yost makes a great rear sight called 'Retro Sight', it has a very good sight picture and fits into a stock dovetail.

I think the King's sight is the one, thanks.
Does Yost have a website to see their offerings?

Before you change, take a look at the Heinie rear sight too. Very "BoMar-like".
