Hi guys and gals,
Today I bought two NIB Gunsite CCO's. One is for me, the other is for a fellow forum member. I may have paid too much, but I love these little pistols.
My question is this:
I have heard that Jeff Cooper called the Gunsite CCO "almost perfect" for a carry weapon. Does anyone have any idea WHO, exactly, at Gunsite specified what the build would be?
Thanks,
DD

I believe it was his wife. :appld:
If it was Mrs. Cooper, you can be assured that the specs were very demanding.

I'm not sure who specified the build...but congrats on the acquisition Tim! They are excellent guns.

I don't know, but I wonder what the "almost" was about? What would have made the "almost" drop off?

This is my question, too. I wonder what he found on it that could be improved on (especially since it bears the Gunsite logo).
From what relatively little I know about Jeff Cooper, I doubt that he found many things "perfect".

From what I have read, he did seem to be very particular.

I saw a post on some forum a few years ago written by someone from the Gunsite Pro-Shop, the pistols were spec'ed by the Gunsite gunsmiths, but some features had to be deleted to make the pistols within a certain price window. Night sights had to go, plus slim-line grips on the CCO. There might have been other features that escape me at this time. Anyways, the Gunsite pistols weren't perfect according to Colonel Cooper, but they were a very good starting point.
