I bought a nice Remsport slide to put on my ORM 1991A1 Commander & it fits well except for hitting the ejector. I'd have to remove a substantial amout of metal from the right side of the ejector in order for the slide to clear it. Anyone know what the safe minimum thickness is?

Is it hitting the slide or the firing pin stop?

There's no firing pin stop in the slide yet but it is hitting the part of the slide where one would be if it was installed. The ejector measures .080" thick at the top & it looks like about half of it needs to be ground down before it'll go into the upper part of the ejector channel in the slide. The Colt's ejector is kind of funky lookin' compared to the one in my Les Baer TRS. The One in the Baer is flat on the right side....the Colt's has a "pad" on the right. The new slide will go on the TRS ok so maybe what I need to do is replace the Colt's ejector.

That's a Commander ejector. The dogleg offset to the right is standard. The Commander slides and firing pin stops were modified in order to clear it. What you need is a straight ejector.
