I have a PX9109L and need a shorter trigger. My trigger finger was injured and the first knuckle had to be fused. My problem is the long trigger is too long and I have a tendency to move at the second and third knuckle thereby pulling my shots. So I ask, how much shorter is the shoe on a medium and the short trigger?

I don't have anything in front of me at the moment, but if I remember right, it's a few milimeters.

Am I correct in assuming any difference is in the shoe as far as length?

Yes, that is correct. If have a Brownells catalog, they list the length of the trigger pad itself im mm.

Maybe try an SVI trigger that has interchangeable shoes. This way you could keep trying different lengths and shapes until you find one that works for you.

Yes they are. Especially with the unique situation the OP is in. Brownells carries the inserts also and lists the lengths. Hope this helps.

Have the same issue with a different joint fused. The shortest trigger I have found is the STI short black skeletonized and the Greider short plain aluminum. They spec out slightly different lengths but are functionally the same size length of pull. The Greider has a plain anodized finish and has an overtravel screw. The STI is polymer, black and skeletonized with strut bars not holes. The STI has pretravel tabs and an overtravel screw. The STI also has the yoke thinned so I think it is lighter also due to that. I plan to reinstall the STI the next time I detail strip. I think it looks better and feels nice when I shoot the gun.
I also installed thin grips and a flat mainspring housing to help with length of pull reduction.

I went to the local gun shop and tried a Colt with the short trigger and decided to go short from SVI. Anyone have any comments whether I should go flat or curved?
Had someone at the range shoot my pistol and his says it seems to be pretty accurate. Only things I had changed was to install an EGW custom bushing, EGW os fps and replaced the mainspring and plunger cap.
BTW. Trial and error gets expensive. You end up with too many spare parts that beckon to be built into another gun, just ask me about my ARs. Thanks for al the comments and info.
