I noticed that there is 2 different types of owners manual, what year did they change them?

This goes deep into old memory, but I think in the early 70's. Pre 1974 I think. Not sure about content as that could have been the same, but I think the look of the manual was different, and I also think the box maybe.

Not a great picture, and not for sale, but here is my 1977 GCNM I bought new with the stuff that came with it, and it shows the manual.

Call Colt Customer Service and see if they'll send you one!

The replacements have an orange stripe, but the info is the same. I think I might try to find an original at the gun shows and on ebay before getting a replacement from Colt. I had no trouble finding one a few years back for a 1974 GCNM and more recently for a 1983 Government Model.
