Greetings all:

After a rather long oddessy, I have a DW 10mm waiting for me at an FFL. I hope to fire some rounds tomorrow after I pick up the gun.

With that in mind I purchased a Hartt's recoil reducer (HRR) and Wilson Shok Buffs. The HRR's instructions state NOT to use any buffers when using the HRR....ok.

Well, which of the two items (if anyone knows) will better "protect" the gun from the 10mm round's recoil.

Will the HRR increase the life span of the gun?

How often should the mainspring be changed if firing full power 10mm rounds?

Thanks. :)

Santos.

I tried the Harrts recoil reducers before. It really didn't do much for the recoil. I tried a tungsten recoil rod and I never looked back. The recoil buffers are better for me in protecting the gun from "battering." But on defensive purposes, I wouldn't use the buffers (if they crack, you'll get a jam). I'll let the others reply on the mainspring. I haven't changed those mainsprings in quite a long time. They are still good.
