I would like to get some new grips for my Para Ordnance P16.40 limited, but I'm told regular 1911 grips won't fit.
Is this true? Do I have to buy grip panels specifically for a Para?
Thanks in advance.

Found my answer while sorting through Google results. Bummed that the 1911 grips won't fit, but oh well.
Anyone know any good custom grip makers for the Paras?
I really liked the look of the Simonich Gunner grips.

I spent some amount of time looking for custom grips for my LDA Carry 6.45. The grips for this gun are smaller that the “officer” size. I found this guy who made the custom pair shown in the pic. I sent him the original grips to copy. In a few days he sent back the original and the new set. They were perfect. I have since bought 3 more pairs for my other 1911s. VERY reasonable price.

I'm planning to send the grips from my Carry 12 to
http://shop.thefinergrain.com/main.sc
to have them make a set. They said they would return the originals in about a week.
