I have a PT1911 with ambi-safety. Safety is too easy to engage and disengage. Sometimes the top of my right hand touchs end engages the right side of the ambi-safety while shooting. I am going to replace ambi with a single side safety. Which aftermarket part is going to require the least amount of hand fitting. I would like to find one that i could just drop in.

1911 thumb safeties require fitting. If you find one that drops in without fitting then you're just plain lucky.

Halito, all. Good question IMHO. In anybody's experienced opinion, what would be the most preferred maker for replacement of an ambi with a standard type thumb safety? Inquiring minds would like to know. Love the 1911, Texas (bet it's getting warm down there eh?) and the forum.

As Mr. Berryhill said, you're going to have to fit almost any safety into any gun. I have found that the Wilson (extended) was the easiest to fit, but that was in my guns. Since every one is different, ymmv.
Just make sure you are using a quality mfgrs part, regardless. Beyond that, read the sticky in the forum, use a file - NOT a Dremel, and take your time. Metal comes off easier than it goes back on.
