A fine 1911 clone I must say.

I stopped at Wally World and picked up 250 rounds of FMJ's. A 100 round bulk box of WWB and 150 rounds of Blazer Brass. And at the range (since Wally does not stock JHP's) I grabbed a box of 185 gr Golden Sabers. Being the Sabers come 25 rounds to a box I figured I would blast one mag (8 rounds, to test for JHP feeding and accuracy) and have enough left over to keep 2 loaded mags for the nightstand.

And right from the start I decided to go big. Skip right to the Sabers. Set the target out to 15 yards. All targets were set out to that distance. Loaded the with mag with 8 Sabers, slingshot the slide and squeezed that sweet trigger. BLAM! First shot hits dead center. Sweet! Second shot is touching the first. Wow. Third shot, same. Three rounds in one hole. I'm liking it. And then, like a jackass, I got excited and quickly fired off the last 5 rounds and foiled my perfect grouping LOL. But still kept all eight rounds within a 3 inch group. And center mass of course.

I then continued onto the FMJ's and accuracy was still excellent. The WWB were just a hair more accurate than the Blazers. The Blazers I hit a tad more right and low. But still all in the "killzone". So total rounds fired, 258, ZERO issues/failures. A successful first outing if I may say so.

As you can see from the pics, the only change I have made was the addition of some Hogue rubber grip panels. I was thinking about night sights, but honestly, I really like how this gun is set up. So I do not see any other changes in its future.

In closing, for those curious about this pistol or someone looking for a good base starter 1911 clone, I highly recommend this CD 1911. Thanks for reading/looking.

Nice shooting, I recently got mine and you are right. A great gun. Have not tried hollow points in mine yet, but it feeds every thing else including LSWC's so I'm not antisipating any problems. Going to try mine back at the 25 yard targets next.

Great shooting!!! Thats a fine looking 1911. I recently got a CD M5 Ultra-X and love it. I've already been thinking of trading in my Springfield GI 1911 for a CD EFS like yours. Seeing how well yours shot and performed may have sealed the deal for me.
Thanks for the range report.

guinea, I have shot a lot of different 1911's over the last 30 years, and my Daly EFS is THE most accurate I have ever shot. It is a pleasure to shoot, and has been very reliable for me.
I know some folks online refer to these as "starter" or "low end" 1911's, but you can spend 3 times the money and not get any increase in accuracy or reliablilty. I know there are a lot of these guns around that have thousands of rounds through them, so I guess I better add they are well made, too.

I "started" with a USGI 1911 in the early 1970's, and now I own ONLY Dalys, and my 2 are much better quality guns.

Keep the Daly and spend the money you saved on ammo.

Um.............this statement of yours almost implies that I was considering getting rid of my Daly EFS? Did I miss something?

I believe he was referring to his statement of .....

Possibly. But his post is addressed to me, so I assumed the entire post was directed towards me. I could be wrong, or reading into it incorrectly. Wouldn't be the first time. :o
