Is that yours? If so you are one lucky dog :D
Commander slide/officer frame on a Springfield? With a semi-bobtail mainspring housing. That would make a great CCW piece.

Man, I wish it was, but no - a little too rich for my blood at the moment. I just never get tired of looking at John's work.
I was talking to him the other day about other stuff and he mentioned this post on LTW so I had to check it out.
Geeeeeeze Louise......what a beauty............

Those are a great set of pistols he has up for sale. I was on the phone with him looking at them and if I had not gone way over board in the last few weeks I would have bought it or the bobbed Springer. I have to learn to start saying no. :o His work is stunning and he is a true gentleman to do business with. I cant wait to see his art on "my" canvas......... still a few months away :(

So you are making a free plug for John now?? And I have been trying to get him to place a banner in our site. With these things you do, he doesn't have to. :p

the guy's work definitely looks top notch. in details with him now for two identically configured peerless package guns; i can see two or three more projects going his way if i keep seeing great pics like these. would be my first full builds - not a bad way to return from two consecutive years in the box.

Groundbranch, Isn't it a wonderful feeling to know you have all that Combat pay sitiing in a bank just waiting for a pistol to spend it on? I remember thumbing through a Colt catologue during my 1990-1991 sandbox adventure.
Hey, stay safe and get home soon.

Thanks for the warm welcome all. Been a lurker for some time, and registered last year but it seems Mujj won't give me a few days off to post. dogdollar, any idea what wood was used to fashion the grips on this 1911?

They look like Goncalo Alves to me, and I would bet you that Mr. Harrison made them himself.

Hi Guys,
Thank you for your kind comments. The grips were hand made by myself and they are Cocobolo (although that was a mighty close guess, DD).
