I need a Colt

I figured I would come you all for the right place to go to get a good price on a Colt 70 series 1911. I am an Iraq war vet, and feel it is time I get another gun and there is no other way to go. The history and meaning of this firearm would not be forgot while in my hands. I am not rich by any means, but what I got I got. So I just would like to get a good colt 1000 price range if that is possible.(willing to go up to 1500) I just want a plain old goverment size 1911.

Anything wrong with the reproduction ones that I see on the website or do they not exist? I dont ever know if the Colt website is updated or not.

The Series 70 reproduction sells for under $1,000 at full list price. Full list price on the 1918 M1911 reproduction is $999.

It's unfortunate Colt haven't updated their website, but the good news is you can request a 2008 catalog. Give them a call at 1-800-962-COLT and they will be glad to send one to you.

I just sent an email for this years catalog myself.

I am very partial to the WW1 Repros. But I have Gunsite Pistols, SCG, Colt Custom Super 38 and a 1991. Of the current models, for my first, I'd look at the WW1 Repro and the Series 70 Repro. I'd get to the rest after that.

The series 70 repro is anice one and if you want more look at the Special Combat Gov't.
Give a look at John's site, Proload, he's cleaning out the Colt's and had a SCG listed. Give him a call, he may surprise you.
