Ok Scott, here it is (bad camera work and all). My grandfather was a LT in the Army during WW1 and carried this. Still shoots fine and the slide doesn't rattle when you shake it like all the ones I shot when in the Army (mixmasters). Although I will not part with this, it would be interesting to have an idea of what something like this might be worth to a collector. This was mfg 1915 as far as I can tell.

Hi

In the second picture, the mag release looks very different than the frame. Is that just the picture or is it really that different?

I think lighting is affecting that in the picture. The finish on that piece seems to be smoother than the frame - maybe been replaced since the screw slot is obviously bunged up some. Looking at it in real life, not noticeable unless really scrutinizing.

Very nice! Looks like Grandpa did a little filing on the front sight. Can we have more photos? Please? Pretty please?

That's in pretty good condition after all those years. It looks like your grandfather and yourself took great care in handling it. At least you know it's history.

Doug: Thanks for the photos. I can see the front sight has been altered, and you mention the magazine release screw slot has been altered or damaged. I can't see the details of the finish and the markings well enough to form an opinion yet.

I will try to get some better (detailed) pics up when time permits. The limit on posted picture size inhibits doing justice to things like this IMO.

If you need/want to, feel free to e-mail me your photos. If you'd like, I will try to post them with as much detail as possible after viewing them. Thanks.
