I just picked up a used ODI/Seecamp 1911. The pistol is in fair shape and seemed like a good candidate to restore. This will be my first full restoration and helpful hints would be appreciated. I am looking for ideas and suggestions.
Here are some pictures:
As I bought it:

Here is a picture of my brothers slide. The slide was a satin finish and had some pretty bad scratches. He asked me if I could remove the scratches and polish it up a little. It's still not finished and he has yet to see it. I don't know if I want to go this high of a polish.
