Changing rear sight

I am wondering if anyone knows what I should expect for a smith to install a different rear sight on my CD?

Depends on which model you have.. Some of the CD's have a standard mil-spec rear dovetail & most new stuff has a Novak-style cut (I'm not sure it's identical though...maybe someone can answer?).

If it's just tapping in a new sight; you could do yourself, or it shouldn't cost more than a few bucks. If you need a dovetail cut, the price will vary depending on the type, but most are in the $35-70 range.

Mine is the newer type with the Novak "style" cut. Has anyone found a sight that will fit the dovetail or one that can be modified to fit?
