Hello, I've posted this on The High Road, but in retrospect I think it would be better answered here.

Which of the current after market 1911 extractors are "pre-prepped" with the right hook length, bevels, radii, etc.?

The brown hardcore i got was not prepared at all and even after fitting it I am finding it won't keep it's tension (bad/wrong part maybe). Anyway I want to get a good and different after market extractor that I just need to tension correctly. Also if it is just a tad bit shorter in length from FP stop to the hook that would be good too (my brown extractor contacts the extraction groove lightly even after filing on the nose a bit).

I look forward to some opinions.

I've had good luck with the Wilson extractor. However I've had good luck with Ed Brown as well.

It sounds like the depth of the hook may not be right rather than the length of the extractor. If it's too deep and whacking into the side of the case, it won't hold tension well. In short it just needs a bit of fitting that shouldn't take more than 20 mins.

I don't think you're going to find a "fully prepped" one along the lines of what you're looking for. Some minor filing will be required.

I assume you've read:
