Hi all-

I have just won a Springfield Armory 1911. Serial #116880. I won it on Gunbroker and I wanted to know if you guys think I did alright as far as price. I wound up paying $2k. However, she looks really nice and the seller is also including an SA WWI era barrel, sear & disconnecter. I found this pistol to be really eye catching, and as a newbie to 1911's, I really just like the way the pics looked. I hope that she is as good as she looks in the auction site. I saw another on GB going for well over $2k. So I dont know, is this price fair? The seller mentioned the fact that the thumb saftey is not SA. Is that a hard part to find?

Here is the auction link-

Thanks in advance-
MIke

Looks nice to me. Can't tell if all the small parts are correct, but I like the wear/patina the old timers get from a little use and age.

I think you got a good example of a Springfield 1911 at a fair price. Sure it has a few parts that aren't correct, but some of the fun can be in searching for them, depending on how correct you want it to be. Meanwhile, you can enjoy it as is, and know that you've got a real piece of history that has "been there", and not in a desk drawer all it's life. I personally like the look of this one, it's a bit worn, but not all beat up. The grips are in really nice shape, and correct, and it has the correct magazine. Congratulations on your find.
