have'nt found a chart online or in bluebook that would give me date of manufacture of one of my favorites.....approximate would be fine. 70N508xx help appreciated. THANK YOU

Off the top of my head it is gonna be 78-79.

1977 started with 70N40401 per my R.L.Wilson reference booklet. Mine is 70N63xxx and it was dated by Colt as made in '78. Yours is probably '77 or maybe early '78. If you want to find out for sure call Colt at 800-962-2658. Dennis

Thank you a lot Denden, that is close enough. This is my most cherished .45 as it was my late brothers that I inherited back in 86. I noticed how different the script was on it recently when compared to another 70 series NM and was just curious. I appreciate your post.
