I was hoping someone could date this Colt slide and barrel for me. I found some letters on the inside "A" and "P" and some numbers "5" and "4" on the outside there is a "H"
The Barrel Has a "p" on the lower side.

I bought A 1911 which the frame was altered, and was made by Remmngton- UMC and the slide is a Colt. If I could get some reliable info in the slide I could maybe trade it for what I need to make it some what original again.
Thanks, Jim

There is some GREAT info at www.coolgunsite.com

There is an ID Pages button on the left side. There you can see another button called Markings. There you will see pictures of approx. when the different slides were used. I hope this helps.

Looks to be a 1911 Colt mid 1918-1919 production
