Honestly, Longslide, that's a difficult question to answer. Your Bi-Tone Mil-Spec looks great with either set.
Are those ivory in the second photo?

On my monitor, the contrast between the slide and the frame is a bit hard to distinguish.
But, I think I prefer the warm look of the wood grips.
They both are nice though!

The wood grips by far ! triguy
I'd have to go with the wood grips, also, but maybe with a more straight-on profile picture my opinion may change.

THANKS TO ALL THE FEEDBACK!! :)
Ok - there seems to be a trend. back to the wood grips. I kind of like them as well.
The white grips are NOT IVORY - :lm:
They are micarta (sp?) grips that I got from Ebay. I think I will put them on a blued / SA.

Not Ivory??? :nono:
Hey, Longslide... perhaps we can coin another acronymn here... NI = NOT IVORY!!! :D
I didn't suspect micarta... actually was thinking they might be a set of those "polymer ivory" grips that I see being sold.
Micarta and some other sythetic laminates are good stuff from what I read. A couple of weeks back there was a deal about how this material protects a shooter's hand in the event of a "kaboom".

Longslide,
Due to the angle it was hard to see the two tone of your pistol...for that reason I couldn't really tell which one looked better. I actually prefer smooth grips over the checkered so I wanted to vote for the white ones...but I think the wood ones gave a better contrast with what I was able to see.
Well it looks like you decided...so if you'd like you can send those Micarta to me and I'd be happy to put them on my black S&W 1911PD... :lm:

I think the steel and wood look best together. Youre right, grips really change the overall look, cant argue that.

Just LOVE your signature! AMEN!
Thanks for the feedback on the grips - I have gone back to rosewood smooth grips.

Call me traditional but I'll always like a nice set of wood grips. Very nice 1911!
