i read so many things on the auto ordanace m1911a1 i bought one gee oh guess in 2003 since i had it i sent it back once for feeding problems then the front sight came off and the mag release broke to make a long story short i replaced the front sight and the mag release and install a new non mil spec ejector and as well as the mag release and had to change the sear im going to try in this weekend but i want to see its mil spec it not a kimber most parts you can just drop in and i know i own 5 kimbers and we will see if i fixed the feeding problem i polished the ramp

Do not start polishing until you are sure of the reason for your problems. Most feeding issues are NOT ramp-related and polishing the ramp can make the pistol worst than it initially was.

Describe to us the issues with your pistol and we'll try to help, but you need to be very precise. When the jam occurs, where is the cartridge found? Where is the nose? Stuck against the frame ramp? Has it partially entered the chamber? Where is the rim? Has it gone under the extractor claw or is it still below it?

i sent it back to the factory and they did the polishing but the rest i did it been a long time since i work on one but it was by trail and error as i said this gun because of all the defects from the factory i figured had no where else to go but up it been sitting in the safe for almost 3 years not being used so i figured heck work on it in my spare time i used to do it in the army many moons ago so now i look at this as my hobby peice
