i bought a tanfoglio 1911 pistol a few months ago and even though i haven't shot it a lot i really love it ,one of the things i don't like however is the front sight which is plain black and hard to see against the back sight ,i wish to change this but when i go onto midways website there are a lot of different dovetail types ,and instead of giving the dimensions which would make comon sense they are classed by maker ,e.g. colt or sti etc ,is there any way to find out what type the one on my pistol is ? i have a suspision that it is the same as the rock island and other philpino made pistols .
if anyone can shed some light on this i would be very grateful .
thanks

Hi

The front sight on most RIA's is a stake on part. It does not have a dovetail. Instead it has a "tenon size". They also require a bit of work to swap out.
