I just purchased a Springfield Armory GI 45. This model is supposed to be very similar to the 1911 A1 produced during WW II. The stocks (or if you prefer grips) are not very authentic. Where can I get stocks consistant with the 1911 models produced from 1942-45 (brown plastic). They aren't pretty but are they're at least authentic.

I have not looked myself, but I have heard others talking about picking them up at gun shows.

Simpson's Ltd had a BUNCH not too long ago. They told me they had over 1300 lbs of takeoffs when they started. They were $10 at the time and they paid the postage. You could even specify which pistol you needed them for. I bought several pair.

I put the grips in the mail to you today. You should get them in about 10 - 15 days. I marked them as a gift so they should go throught your customs quickly.

I sure hope they fit OK and meet your needs.

Regards,

Bob
