The rear sight on my COlt has come loose (new gun). What color Loc-Tite should I use to secure the allen screw? Thanks in advance.

Check the Stickies for Loctite info.

The red Loc-Tite is permanent. If you ever want to remove that allen setscrew you'll need to heat it up to above 600 degrees F, probably doing damage to the sight and slide in the process.
I used blue Loc-Tite on my front sight that was wanting to work it's way out of the dovetail.

1911FXR, My order of procedure would be to make sure the set screw was tight to start with as I haven't had this problem. If after trying it tight without Loctite and it becomes loose again I would try purple (low strength) first,if no good than blue. Remember this is a very small screw and if the Allen cams out you will have to drill it out, so always use a good Allen wrench.
