I figured this is the best forum to ask this question in as you guys probably run across these all the time.
Are all magwells (main brands anyway) cut to the same configuration as far as the outside dimensions go? Will a set of grips that fits the outer profile of one magwell estension still fit on a different pistol with a different brand of magwell extension?
Thanks in advance for the help.

Hey Sarge. I only can verify Smith and Alexander parts but I found a slim contour mainspring housing magwell combination. They list a standard magwell width and the slim width. The slim size fits the slim contour Mil-Tac G10 grips I had on my Springer. I have ordered the tactical flat bottom G10 grips to replace the bevel bottom grips. Actually the bevel bottom grips don't look that hateful but I figured I should get the correct grips since I have invested in a magwell mainspring housing. The S&A part fit beautifully and was a true drop in. I could shape the magwell to blend it to the frame magwell a little and may someday but I am using it as delivered. I looked in the Brownells catalog and the shape of the magwells appears to vary. Some are wide and some are thinner looking. Probably there are a variety of shapes to play with. The dimensions would help if they were listed.

They will be close but not exactly the same size due to differences in the pistol and magwell Most of the time you cant tell the difference.. But i have one Gun with mag well that a couple sets of grips won't fit (too long for this gun) but fit fine every other gun with magwell i have ..
