i recently bought a springfrield loaded pistol used that has had the original 3 hole trigger replaced with a short trigger that i am just not a real big fan of. I found the original trigger in the box and would like to swap it back in. Seeing as how the pistol is in almost new condition id like to keep it that way. What tools should i have to attempt such a project, will this likely affect the trigger pull weight, and where can i find a detailed take down guide to help me along the way. Any help would be great.

You are an old timer and you are asking where to find instructions for take-down?

Where else? In M1911.ORG. Go to our Home Page (http://www.m1911.org/m1911dt.htm) and into the Disasssembly section. It's all there. And it's pretty easy.

hmm i guess i should have known that, i guess not visiting the site or forums for about 18 months will do that for you, but it was just too painful when my 1911 got stolen before. Its better now that i have it replaced, but anyways thanks for the reminder

You should only need a punch to remove the MSH Pin. Unless you have a FLGR, then you need an allen to remove that. The trigger is one of the last things to come off the pistol so you will need to pretty much strip it down. It should hopefully drop right back in after that. Good luck.
