I just couldn't say no. This is the first Commander I've ever had and I'm in love with this for a carry gun. The slide is the perfect length, and the aluminum frame is the perfect weight! This one has no cosmetic blemishes, is very tight and has one of the nicest triggers I've ever had the pleasure of pulling (ZERO creep and probably ~4 pounds). I am super excited and happy with this new Colt.

I bought it along with a nice watch as my college graduation present to myself (I graduate in July). I have been reading Clive Cussler novels since I was a kid, and I'm ridiculously sentimental, so I bought a Dirk Pitt Special Edition Doxa SUB750T.

I saved money, and spent my entire tax return on the two and have no regrets. I've never been this happy with a big purchase before. Here is a picture of the two together. :)

Congrats on the Colt, the watch, and the upcoming graduation. I honestly don't know much about the watch (I'm a Rolex and Breitling guy myself), but I know you'll cherish that Commander.

Thanks! The Doxa is built on an ETA 2824 action, so it's kind of like a Colt...tried and true. I guess they are a small outfit and only make 5,000 units of each model.

I have something to pass down to my child when I have one. :)

I love Commanders (don't know why I've never kept any I've owned). I'm sure you will love that XSE LW more and more the longer you own it.

That is a sweet pistol. I am looking at picking one up also.

I didn't know a Dirk Pitt edition watch was made! That's cool - I haven't read a Clive Cussler book in years. Time to dig some out of the basement.

Nice looking Colt and watch Joe. Congrats on your upcoming graduation as well. Can't wait to read about your first range trip.

I still have mine, and except for for the front serrations being unfriendly to some holster designs, I love it.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone.

I fitted an oversize FPS in it and shot 100 rounds last night. What an awesome gun. Zero malfunctions, the FPS really makes a difference, it was so incredibly tame. Oh, and the accuracy was just what I expect out of a new Colt...perfect! ;)
